Here are some of the 46 boys and girls who represented the school at Wednesday’s Norwich Area Cross country event. 6 progressed to the county finals. A special mention to the year two squad who gained 6 out of the top 10 finishing positions in their race. Well done one and all.
Sports at St Francis
On the 23rd of May, 4M took part in the Open Dance Show ‘Top of the Pops’. They performed a routine to S-Club’s ‘Don’t Stop Moving’ and were totally brilliant! Here they are rehearsing some snazzy moves.
Children from Years 3 to 6 attended this event. As always they were a credit to our school and their families. Watch out for who makes the final in a few weeks.
Well done to 3 squads who played against lots of other schools this month. The squads came 1st, 6th and 7th with obviously the winning team going forward to the final next month. Everyone played their best and were great sportsman.
Reception in the hall learning balance ability and Year 5s in the playground on the road during their two day course Pedal Power.
Last week two year 3/4 teams represented the school in the Norwich SSP competition. A year 2/3 squad also represented Saint Francis of Assisi school at a tennis festival.Both took place at Eaton Park .Lots of good tennis was played by both.
Congratulations to Sophia, Felix, Grace and Gabriel who finished in third position overall.As a result of this they have gained a place at the county finals.
On March 26th, the Year 6 High 5 Netball squad played again lots of other schools. Whilst they didn’t win, they played superbly. One team finished fifth and the other team lost in the plate final. Hopefully some will go on and find a netball club or team. Well done.
The year 4-6 boys and girls who represented the school did amazingly well at the Norwich Schools Swimming Gala.
Out of the 27 heats, they won 11 and showed great determination and resilience to compete to such a fabulous standard. Every one of them represented the school in the Saint Francis way.The school is very proud of all of them.
In February 2018 the Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics team finished third in the county finals. They are pictured with Iona Lake who will be representing England in the 3000m steeple chase at the upcoming commonwealth games in Australia.
