Peter Pan Project – Hawthorne Care Home
Since January 2019, we have been fortunate enough to have 8 Year 2 pupils visit this care home each Friday afternoon to interact with the residents. Each group spend 12 weeks building up relationships with the older residents. They practice brain gym together while listening to a song of either the resident’s or pupils’ choice. Each week they enjoy an activity together either initiated by one of the pupil’s hobbies or one of the residents. It has been enormously successful and it has been wonderful to see how the friendships develop between the young and the old over the 12 weeks.
