St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School is located within the parish of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral in the Diocese of East Anglia. Many of our families are parishioners at the Cathedral.
School groups have visited the Cathedral to mark feast days and celebrations, and the Cathedral continues to play an important part in the Catholic life of the school, as well as being a resource to enhance our RE Curriculum.
Many of our children and members of staff live and attend Mass in other local parishes. We have a number of children who serve at Mass, several who help with the Children’s Liturgy and others who sing in the church choirs. A number of our children were recently privileged to serve at the Installation Mass for Bishop Alan. Many of our children regularly take part in diocesan events, including the annual Children’s Pilgrimage to Walsingham.
The school occasionally requests that news concerning the school is included in parish newsletters. It also provides items for the Diocesan Newspaper. We are always happy to include items in our school newsletter which may be of interest to children from all our parishes. Please let us know if your parish group or event would like a mention in our school newsletter or on our website.
