Parent Forum

Parent ForumThe Parent Forum is a group of parent representatives who meet regularly to discuss school-related issues.

Regular, open communication and consultation with parents is really important to the school and the Parent Forum provides a valuable way to listen to your ideas and concerns and seek your views, helping to make sure the needs of our children and their families are met.

From September 2013 we will meet once per half term. Meetings are led by school staff and governors, usually by the Headteacher and the Chair of Governors. Meetings are informal and a genuine opportunity for open discussion.

Examples of issues that have been discussed this year include:

  • Parking and safe routes to walk /cycle to school
  • School uniform
  • Class mixes
  • Cost of school trips and events
  • Parents evenings
  • Reading

Sharing the information….

Parents are encouraged to share information from Parent Forum with parents of other children in their child’s class. Feedback is also included in school newsletters which are distributed to all parents, and notes of each meeting are published on the parent forum page of the school website.

Parents may ask you as a parent representative to raise an issue or make a suggestion on their behalf at Parent Forum.

“Attending the Parent Forum has definitely improved my communication with the school. It has given me the opportunity to ask questions, express any concerns and ultimately feel that I am playing a small part in the success of the school. I have felt that I have been listened to.”
